Capturing 4 MegaBytes Max Problem

Hello anyone who can help me. I tried to capture DV into a hard drive using USB. The problem I'm having with many software is that it maxed out when getting close to 4 MegaBytes in size. (the error is out of memory) I'm using trv-70 camcorder and the original software. I know that windows gave each program memory allocation 4 Megs, and maybe this has something to do with it, but how to get around it?
