Why do we get these messages every week? People know Sony is the leader with encryptions so they come here asking what to do but they always receive the same message from the week before.
The newest AnyDVD, latest DVDFab, AnyDVD ripper, dvd region, CloneDVD etc., etc.
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

I guess purchasing AnyDVD is a hard nut to swallow? i.e. "I sure wouldn't want to spend that kinda money ($35.00) on the internet"? Many people it seems prefer difficulty? i.e. "Say, What's the best 10 step process to backing up a movie"? Funny.;P

@N2DVD
NOTE: No disrespect to AnyDVD (SlySoft) and its users or anyone.
For rippers, I prefer DVDFab Decrypter (FREE) and RipIt4Me (FREE). I seriously don't see any reason for me to buy AnyDVD at all. Again, I've said this before, money ($35) is not an issue for me.
It's all about common sense (in the head) -- If both DVDFab Decrypter and RipIt4Me are FREE and both "updates frequently" just to handle anything out there, do I really need AnyDVD?
I guess I better stop here before someone flame me, LOL.

No...I don't take your reply personal. This was just my comedic reply and not directed at anyone, but just look at the "Ohhhh My God" this DVD has Arccos or RipGuard weekly responses. It is humerous as even I have to admit personally that trying to figure out how every DVD I back up is going to work with freeware is tideous at best. So I made the choice to purchase AnyDVD & CloneDVD2. I keep the freeware for just in case. There is clearly a difference as it relates to saving time when using AnyDVD or CloneDVD2 compared to working amongst 3 or 4 freeware programs trying to figure out if it's gonna work. That point seems to be ignored in exchange for "Hey I got some time to waste" everytime I back up a DVD. I purchase the DVD and AnyDVD & CloneDVD2 is small price to pay for the overall benefit.:P

I personally agree with alkohol. Both DVD FAB & RipIt4Me work perfectly and are updated regularly. These are powerful programs that can handle any encryptions out there!

Point well taken..but in my own experience they are hit or miss in comparison. I have backed up a popular encrypted films using AnyDVD & Nero Recode2 and done this percisely and successfully the 1st time in minimal time. Freeware in comparison involves a lengthy process in most cases that involves the use of at least 3 programs. If editing is your objective on every back up then fine for any and all who need to do this. The only editing I do is done with CloneDVD2 and this is to maintain the "Main Movie" only without the extra trailers and to maintain the menus with better picture quality. My point is there are benefits and advantages to having AnyDVD, CloneDVD2, & Nero 7 purchased software over freeware. Freeware works, but not as time efficient as the software I've paid for.:P

Cheers, I agree. Don't you think we have seen enough of those threads from newbies, LOL!!
In addendum to those weekly posts (i.e. I can't backup/rip this, I can't backup that, I have trouble ripping "name of movie" etc.) I honestly think 99% is the users at fault regardless if it's "retail or free tools".
I can rip any DVD/movies within 15 - 18 minutes (depends on how big is the movie) easily with either DVDFab Decrypter or RipIt4Me and the rest is history with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode and ImgBurn or Nero Burning Rom.
Some says, it's a long process, but I don't think it is -- it's how I (you/we) used them, pretty much everything falls in the "how to" category including both free tools and retail.
Best of luck!!

well, i am a newbie to the forum, but have been successfully doing this for a couple years now...i am NOT up to speed on ALL different programs used for this, as i tend to be loyal to that with which works for me, and for over a year this AnyDVD has been just that...and probably will remain, as updates are added. As i was explaining to creaky, the mod, it was a concern since versions quoted me were said to be successful, but i was experiencing not the same...then there was a strange, never before "beeping noise" that persisted during the copy process, that was of concern, as i use a SONY DVD BURNER, as was thinking that this may be the problem. As a matter of eliminating all possibilities, i posted here...thanks for the help, and am glad i could bring some laughter into some, sorry for the distain in others. MERRY XMAS from the USA!

Don't worry and you're welcome. Eventually, you'll get better when you've acquired all the experiences and techniques when it comes to DVD ripping and backing up. Keep us posted.
Cheers and best of luck!!

I was in a rush today (to one of my final exams) so I initially ripped everything with DVDFab. I've since run them through VOBB to blank out everything I don't want. Shrink and Imgburn finished the process successfully.
Once again, no problems.

"All The Kings Men" (Sony) would not burn. We have burned successfully over past 2 yrs with Shrink, Nero, and now DVDClone and AnyDVD, but this one failed twice.
What it does is present the "warnings" over and over again - no movie, yet the software confirms it decrypted successfully. HARD TO CRACK THIS ONE - maybe later ....
Is there a fix or other software that might do it?

AnyDVD 6.0.9.O with CloneDVD2 2.9.0.1 will correct the warning loop I backed this movie up A little over a week ago. I backed up the entire movie w/menus & extras to a Verbatim 8.5 DL disc. I have posted this reply to several threads to assist in offering a simple solution to this problem. I have read replys from a couple of members stating this does not work? I wonder why? These are not the current versions of either software and AnyDVD 6.0.9.5 & 6.0.9.7 CloneDVD2 2.9.0.1 & 2.9.0.3 will also correct the loop. AnyDVD version 6.0.9.2 was flawed and corrected with 6.0.9.5 Before the update was made available I uninstalled 6.0.9.2 and reinstalled version 6.0.9.0 . For anyone with a licensed version receiving regular updates will have no trouble with backing this movie up. Forum member Alkohol, I believe has a freeware method listed here at the forum somewhere his guide should also work, though I have not tried it.:P

AnyDVD 6.0.9.7 & CloneDVD2 2.9.0.3 will also correct the loop,On all the kings men?How long have you been backing up dvd's? There is no way it will, and the same for the people saying the older verions as well.Sure it will back it up,but are these people watching it afterwards?YES IT STILL LOOPS!!! I been Using slysoft products for 2 years now,but lately they have been slipping. So far this looping protection is only on SONY movies. So whenever you have one,and you want it backed up,use this method which i use.Use in this order,1.DVDfab Decrypter 2.Run it through VobBlanker,3.Run it through DVD Shrink,4. Finally burn it with DVD Decrypter,or Nero,or whatever you use to burn dvd's with. This is two steps more then with AnyDVD and clonedvd2,but you will still get the same finished product.Case closed.......................

I have the original disc, the versions I have and mentioned above will correct the loop and as I said perhaps this trouble is a concern for some who have a patched version of AnyDVD. Version 6.0.9.2 was a problem. I purchased "All The Kings Men" just before 6.0.9.2 came out. Many members at that time had started threads about "Attack Force" having the looping warning, which is not new. I saw no interest in that title so my next time out I purchased ALTKM again almost two weeks ago. I then upgraded to 6.0.9.2 which had trouble with this encryption which was somewhat suprising. I uninstalled 9.2 and reinstalled the previous 6.0.9.0 and sucessfully backed up ALTKM using AnyDVD & CloneDVD2 2.9.0.1 menu and extras. Freeware works I guess, but this issue has already been resolved with Slysoft and AnyDVD. Like I said I backed up the movie awhile ago I don't see why other people with AnyDVD are claiming to have trouble.:P Hey I've been N2DVD's a long time now just a heads up, I backed up "Black Dahlia" for travel using AnyDVD 6.0.9.7 & Nero Recode2. Let's see how many complain of not being able to the the same. Hey you got the right equipment? Maybe Not? Then chuck it up to user error, which can be corrected.:P

N2DVD,
I do appreciate your thoughts on this. However i did try the older versions as well as the newer versions. These also are not patched.Do you use DL Disc's for all your movies?Maybe that is how you make it work, but it should not matter either way.I have three other friends, trying the older and newer verions, but without success.I just guess your one out of the lucky million.I dont like freeware, but in these sonys, thats the only way i can back them up.
