I'm a rookie for the PSP, so i'd appreciate if anyone out there could help me out. i just bought a PSP with firmware v. 1.5 out here in China and thing is that i don't have much money to buy the UMDs in the market. I have downloaded some ISO files from the torrent site like torrentspy.com. and thing is that i'm unable to play those downloaded games in my psp. do i require to load any software over my psp to play those games?? if yes can you fully describe it how??

you should use devhook to play isos.
my psp life- 2.01, 2.50, 1.50, 2.00, 1.50, 2.00, 1.50, 2.00, 1.50, 2.71 SE-A, 2.71 SE-B, 2.71 SE-C, 3.02 OE-A, 3.02 OE-B, 3.03 OE-A, 3.03 OE-B, 3.03 OE-C

well pspcrazy2 - i installed devhook as well as fastloader v. 0.7 on my psp but games like Fifa street 2 and NFS Carbon doesn't work in my psp the game that only work is NFS underground rival, is it so that i have a psp fw 1.5 or something else i didn't installed the devhook or fastloader properly man, if it's so then how come the NFS underground worked?? can anyone out there suggest me how can i fix this problem??????

the reason underground worked is because it is a 1.5 game. fastloader only works on 1.5 games. devhook emulates newer firmwares giving you the ability to play newer games. if you follow a guide and install devhook properly then u will have no problem playing your games.

o thanx man i didn't know that. hey hexitnow - can you please guide me to install devhook properly in my psp. actually i too have devhook installed in my psp but i can't even play the NFS underground through it man, is it because i didn't install it properly??
hey let me tell you all the detail about my psp. I have fastloader as well as devhook in the psp other than that i have no other software installed in it. do i need to intall other emulators too in order to make devhook work properly?? and is it that i need to upgrade my fw... but i heard that the fw 1.5 is the best for psp. plz let me know about it. i'm really curious to know. plz guide me to install and play the games of fw new version.

if you search the forums there is MANY MANY threads on how install devhook. I even have a thread that teaches how to install dh .51 with 3.01 firmware. Yes 1.5 psp's are the ones to have. As newer games come out so does newer firmwares, requiring you to update your firmware in order to play your game. Thats where devhook comes in. It emulates newer firmwares from the memory stick and can also load game backups.

no never update. NEVER NEVER NEVER Update. There is no reason to update to play newer games when you can emulate the newer firmwares with devhook. Its pretty cool because you can switch back and forth between 1.5 and 3.02.

yes thats exactly what I was talking about. that is only devhook tho with no firmware files. Let me link you to my guide because it has links to all files needed, and it links to an easy installer thats ran on the psp. No messing with the flash1 files, no extracting the data.psar. Gimme a few seconds and ill update this post with the link.
