fiilm freezing after converting vro file

Hi all
Complete beginner here, so desperately needing assistance before i go out of my mind

Purchased a panasonic digital camcorder and used DVD-RW discs (VR format). I did some editing on this disc then saved it to my computer which produced a .vro file, which played fine on Windows Media Player.

However, if i play this film on anything else such as real player or DivX the film freezes at points throughout.

I wanted to make further edits and upload this to google but although i've saved it to mpeg it doesnt recognise it. I've tried using the trial converters on here, but once converted it's still freezing so i dont want to lay money on something that doesnt do what i need.

Can anyone explain which converter i should use and why its still freezing. Is there any way round this freezing?
