hi, i loaded some games onto my maxtor 200gb harddrive using hdadvance, but then i read that its faster to load them through your computer. so i connected the harddrive via the ide cable but it doesnt show up under my computer. why?? what do i gotta do to load them directly from the computer. i dont know if it helps but the harddrive did show up under device manager.

You have formatted your hdd for use with hdadvance, so it it wont pop up under windows. (Thats normal.)

go and download WINHIIP off the net (sksapps.com)
When you run it, you then select which hdd you want to install the games onto. If you have the hdd connected to your computer, you will see it. It should also show the games already installed.

ok so i did what you said, downloaded winhiip but when i tried to load some games like call of duty 3 or devil may cry 3 it goes to 6% and just hangs and then i have to restart my computer. what am i doing wrong. i didnt change any of the other settings. i just pressed select drive (ps2) then add image. was there something i missed?

Try ripping the games to your Pc's Hard Drive with DVD Decrypter and then ad the Iso with Winhiip and see if that works

thanks for the fast reply. and i tried that too, and it does the same thing it starts then stops and hangs there with the busy icon when it gets to 6%. i dont get it. should i reinstall winhiip?

do you have alot of things running at the same time?
Maybe it's a memory issue.. I'm not sure how much memory Winhiip has to use in its buffer ...

Also a little warning, you have to patch call of duty 3 for hdloader. So if you finally get it onto your hdd it most probly wont work anyways.
And aparently the patch only works on a NTSC version and not PAL :( (Sadly i had to find out the hardway)
