i heard you can flash your dvd rom on your computer to rip games so you dont have to open the xbox. but you need a certain drive

i have a "hitachi-lg GDR8163B"

is this possible? i dont have sata on my board. and cant afford a convertor right now. if its possible can i have a link for the tut?
