You may have recieved a virus file. I had one a while ago that turned every .exe file into a 'not valid Win32 application'. Had to do a full format and re-install as there were no cures for it. Then again, could be a non win32 compliant file/applocation.
lol what exactly was this supposed to be?? It wont be a virus if it says not a valid win32 application because it wouldnt open, hence couldnt be a virus!
Well Norton said to me that my computer had a virus that changed the .exe files on my computer so that they would not be recognised as a Win32 application. One thing i kow for sure is that IE, Outlook, etc... are valid Win32 applications, yet they were coming up as invalid becvause of the virus.
Boot off on a Norton Floppy and run a through viruscan. If there are no viruses.... that would mean the file you downloaded is just plain useless to you... if you are using XP you may need to emulate W9x or something
Nah, norton told me the virus was an executable file that destroys my .exe's eacht ime i open one so that its not a recognised Win32 application. They even gave me some name for it and at the time there was no 'cure'
If its not a valid win32 application, its not an exe file basically, it cant harm you cause windows cant read it! Now it is quite possible that there is a virus in there somewhere however, if windows doesnt execute it it cant do anything now can it!
