I just got a psp... I have read alot of info on this site, but i still have a few questions,

1. How do I create a backup or iso of my psp game?
2. Is there a demo backup or iso which I can download to try running on my psp?
3. Do I have to open my psp for any reason? I.e. Get the motherboard version to install the proper software to run my backups?

Much appreciate any help. Thanks.

1.) i think umdemulator lets you dump the isos form games to the computer..
2.)go to any torent site and seach pspisos..
3.)no you dont unless you have amobo thats over 2.71 and is a ta-082..other then that noo...2.71 can run everything that 1.5 can..

1.) Umddaxdumper and fastloader 0.7 are the ones u want to use to rip games.

2.) like thoa said, visit torrent sites. but iso's arent going to do u any good unless u have a umd. there is devhook .22 which can load iso's with no umd but it has to be a 1.5 iso.

3.) no not at all. the only reason u would have to open ur psp is if you swapped motherboards.

Great thanks for the info! one last questions.
Before I start loading all this stuff, do I need to create any backup of software on my psp? I don't want to destroy it.

And if you have anything under 2.71 but higher than 1.5 then it is not a problem as you can upgrade to 2.71 to play ISOs.

If you have firmware 2.71 follow this guide to run ISOs:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/399310

If you have firmware 1.5, follow this guide to run ISOs:

Yeah you have to upgrade to 2.71.

1. Download the update from here:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/47
2. Extract the EBOOT.PBP and then put it into X:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\ (where X is the drive letter of your PSP).
3. Plug in your AC adapter and on your PSP go to GAME-->Memory STick and run the update.
