Hi bit of a strange one i have a PSP that runs fine but as soon as i insert a game the screen goes blank and shutsdown - i have taken it apart removed the screen booted the PSP then inserted a gam and it reads it and i can hear the music playing. I have tried to replace the screen with a different one and it does the same.

Does anyone have any ideas whats wrong with the PSP - is it a power issue?

think back of wat happen to your psp that might have caused the problem like dropping it or putting it in water then tell us

it may sound stupid but one of the psp's i own, had a funyn fault, it would only power up every hour or so, but i reset default settings and it booted everytime since. it may be coincidence but it worked lol

Someone else on these forums also had a similar problem.

Do you have the AC adapter plugged in? If so, try unplugging it.

Also try shutting off your PSP and then removing the battery. Then after a few minutes put it back in and turn on your PSP.

thanks i bought the PSP off ebay as faulty so i don't no the history of it - it might just be a lemon as i have also found that it won't power up if i have a battery in it and as soon as i enable WIFI it shuts down the same as if i insert a UMD Disc but if i disable it it powers up fine "Very strange i know" -

I have reset the PSP do you think it would do any good if i removed the small internal battery that is attached to the main board and left the battery disconnected over night.

I know its very difficult as i don't know the history of it - When i took it apart i couldn't see any water stains - i might be better selling it on ebay and spending a decent amount of money on a new one that i know works - thanks

Well you could buy a replacement motherboard, that might be cheaper than buying a new PSP.
