Ive heard of a "Blazer" VGA cable. Where can i get one? Emay dosent have anything, only a VGA box - which does nothing but play Regular TV resolution video onto you PC monitor. I want to take advantage of my PS2's VGA capabilities.

THanks for the reply, but that isnt what im Looking for. VGA boxe's are what I DON'T want, and HD cables either. I am looking for a Straight-to-VGA cable for the PS2 (Matrix Infinity enables VGA mode, so I reallly wanna try it out!)

How about one of these?

http://www.xploder.net/ps2/products/161/...or-for-PS2-.htm

You cannot get a PS2 to VGA cable without having the gubbins in the middle - the cable needs to have multiple transistors and step-ups and all kinds of stuff to allow the signal to pass safely.

That's kind of what I'm looking for, just one question:

Does it work without the HDTV disc-thing? I'm just looking to use my PC monitor as a TV for my PS2, so would the video display if I connected the converter cable to my monitor (through the monitor cable)?

EDIT: Just to clarify, my monitor is not HDTV, so would that matter?

It's Festivus for the rest of us!

It should work without the HDTV disc thing, it may even come with a disc. And yes it should work perfectly with your PC Monitor.

But you do know that any of these adapters wont make the PS2s graphics any higher resolution. Even the HDTV disc thing "upscales" the output to a higher resolution - the graphics will still be 480i/576i or 480p/576p (if the game supports it)

So although the image will be the crispest clearest picture you've ever seen on your PS2 - it'll just be the signal that is better.

I use Component cables on my PS2 to watch on my 37" HDTV and the picture is piss-poor to be honest :D the signal is fantastic, much better than Composite or RGB Scart, but the graphics lok really poor that big. :(

So i guess i'll be saving up for a PS3 now :D

Oh, by the way...

I get all my PS2 stuff from this site - they are the cheapest place on the internet for PS2 stuff:

http://www.netpcdirect.co.uk/station_2.php

i highly recommend them - i've bought a multitap, 4 controllers, component cables, component switcher box, memory cards nearly everything! :D

Please help me with my LCD Monitor!

Wait, do you connect that cable to the monitor or the PC? I'm asking because I'm wondering how you get sound too?

I was screwing around with setups yesterday, and I figured out a sloppy way to get video and sound, and I would need these cables:

PS2 to component cable
Component (female) to VGA (to monitor)
RCA Audio to 3.5mm jack
Female 3.5mm coupler (to connect speakers)

Would this setup work?

It's Festivus for the rest of us!

did you buy cheap component cables? well judging by the price on that site you bought REALLY cheap cables ($11 US). Mine were $60 US
and my Component switcher was $100 US
I also use them (Psyclone) and run mine on a 56" DLP TV and
the graphics are really good. Much better than the composite cables

You connect the VGA cable to the monitor, not the PC.

I aimagine these adapters which are intended for games consoles have a separate dedicated audio cable - those Component/Composite/whatever to VGA adapters which are not intended for games consoles probably do NOT have a dedicated audio cable supplied. So...

Anyway, those Component cable carry left and right audio "red and white" - so just plug the main YPbPr video cables into the VGA adapter, and route the red and white audio RCAs to your audio system/hifi/whatever and that should work fine.

No, i said the signal quality is superb - the quality of the cable is great, just the resolution of the PS2s graphics blown up onto a bigger screen makes it look poor.

I'm used to playing high-definition games on my PC - graphics way higher than 1080p, so the PS2s native 720x576 resolution for me, looks piss-poor on a bigger screen.

Graphics way higher than 1900x1080p? Hmmm... I guess you didn't grow up on Nintendo!
