Semi-Pro HARDWARE wise. :-)
Of course, a Xeno PS.
It can be flashed up to the 1.82 Infinity Firmware.

So you mean you want to be able to change the boot up screen like the MI's have with the big "Matrix" logo? I don't know what the XenoPS boots up with.
Good luck man! Unless you know how to code and some way of dumping the Xeno's bios I don't know how you would go about this.

after reading a few of his/her posts i was under the impression they were thinking they could dump the BIOS by burning it to a CD-R in the CD/DVD drive :)
i could be under the wrong impression but i doubt it.

oohh hmm well thats just silly. Lets consider this .... even if the PS2 had a CD burner .... what part of this is going to help dump the bios? I'm confused.

Ohkaaaaay.......
.....I'm not as dumb to think that it would be possible to dump the BIOS onto a CD-RW. That would be IMPOSSIBLE. (Hardware and Software wise).
(Consider it a right post at the wrong time)
Please don't get the wrong impression of my "Mod Savvy-ness".
Anyway, I figured it out.
Simply crack open the 1.82 Infinity Firmware .bin .cue file and swap the Boot.bmp.
It would be nice , however, if the PS2 could read CD-RW's for the reason that Firmware files take up only < 20Mb of 700Mb of available space (What a waste don't you think?). - Thats the reason why I asked about the CD-RW compatibility.... I don't feel like wasting a CD for a freggin' boot logo (but if I must, then I will).
Also, there is an .ELF file in there as well. I was thinking if I could just Flash the firmware without using the disc method after all, but rather launching an .ELF off some sort of USB Storage device (What do i need for this? Even if i HAVE to use a CD-R for this :-) ).

You should know how to extract an elf from an ISO .... any virtual drive will allow you to do this. As for flashing without discs I do it all the time with ULE. Also the most current MI FW ELF is only 106KB so this 700MB stuff is crazy. Good luck cracking the FW and finding the image file which I can guarantee wont be a BMP with the FW only being 106KB but I could be wrong ;-)
Now if your talking about the little custom logo that boots and displays under the "Playstation 2" logo when a PS2 game is being booted by a true MI..... this can be changed on a true MI ..... on a modbo I have no idea.
Have fun!

Just my luck then
Is there a program out there that would let me access th e inside of an .ELF file? I remember I have done it at least once long before back in the PSP Homebrew days. I cant recall anything at the moment.

Why would you need to do this? There are ways of setting up a PS2 coding environment on your PC but I have never looked into it as I'm no coder.
