I need a little help trying to run an ISO game from the memory stick for the first time.
This is where I am at now....
1.When I am in devhook, i see the image of the ISO game.
2. I click start
3. the psp appears to reboot, and goes into devhook mode with a dark blue background.
4. I insert a UMD
Now what do I do? Talk to me like I am a 2 year old, I need a step by step guide please.
I think i am supposed to go to game, then hold the HOME button correct? I can't get it to work! please help.

When you are in DevHook go to UMD SELECT-->File Emulation and select your ISO. Now go to START DEVHOOK. When you go into emulated 3.02, insert a UMD and then go to GAME-->UMD and then your ISO should load instead of the UMD.

eternalis, thanks for the reply, I still have a small problem.
When I try to run the ISO I get this message.
"The system softgware of your PSP system is version 2.71.
To start you must update to version 9.99 or later.
For update methods, refer to the PSP system instructions manual."
The game i am trying to run is "Practical Intelligence Quotient"
Any sugestions? Please help.

Press HOME and the RIGHT TRIGGER while in emulated 3.02 and then try and run the ISO again.

Go to Settings-->System Settings-->System Information. If it says 3.02 under firmware then you are emulating 3.02.

It says System Software 2.71 HEN-DH. Is this correct?
What about the preload address problem, since I dont have 0x98200000 ?

First of all to run DevHook your PSP needs to be firmware 1.5 or 2.71 (if its lower then 2.71 but higher than 1.5, then you can upgrade it to 2.71 in order to use DevHook).
DevHook is an ISO loader which (obviously) loads ISOs. BTW In case you dont know ISOs are images of retail games (in most cases). In order to run new ISOs, DevHook emulated firmware 3.02 (the latest firmware) allowing you to run nearly all ISOs as well as use all the features of firmware 3.02.
You can download it from http://www.psp-hacks.com . I would give a link to my guide explaining how to setup DevHook on firmware 1.5 but my site is down at the moment.

No you dont need to downgrade. You can also run DevHook on firmware 2.71. Just follow this guide:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/399310
However if you dont have a ta-082 motherboard in your PSP, I recommend that you downgrade to 1.5. This is because the process of running ISOs on firmware 1.5 is shorter and easier.
