I have a NME modchip and was trying to make a backup using SS Merger 1.5 o. I have the Network 2 thing installed, the Iso file and the SS bin file, but when I press yes for the MD5 confirmation, it always ends in an error. I've tried different versions of SS Merger too. It is a login error that occurs everytime. I see a lot of people have had this similar problem and there does not seem to be a solution...
Is there another way to merge SS bin files with the ISO? I don't have that special Samsung drive, so Xbox Backup Creator is not an option. I think if anyone has an answer, it will not only help me but a lot of people too. Thanks a lot :)

Son of a bitch!!! according to xbox scene, the database is down and thats why i get that connection error; the guy apparently hasn't received enough donations or soemthing, so he shut down the SS Merger database. At least according to this:

Is there any other way to burn a backup without the Samsung drive, other than using SS Merger? is it working on your computer, and should i try it on different computers? please help!!!!!

Most games now that you download already have the ss.bin file properly patched. If you are doing your own ss.bin file from a game you ripped yourself, you know it's real so patch without doing the md5 checksum.

Ok thanks, i was under the impression you always have to do the MD5 checksum. In what situations can I not skip the MD5 checksum?

I wouldn't do a md5 checksum ever because the database is down. Basically don't get any files in which you don't know are already pre-patched. If you do the rips yourself, then just insert the ss.bin file you get when you rip the game.

Just curious, is there any way to tell if a downloaded game is prepatched?

I am a total noob, so bare with me?.. I have a Globe 360 chip installed in my 360. I started backing my 360 games up last night uning my PC but I ran into a roadblock. I extracted the ISO file using the hot swap method (wxripper) and when I tried to load my ISO file that I created into SS Merger v1.6 I received an error. The error says 'Database connection error'. ?Helldoc? is the creator of SS Merger says someone hacked in and deleted all of the required SS MD5 codes. Here is the link where he says this

Does anyone have a solution to this problem I have run into? Im not sure how to backup my games without having the ?required SS file MD5?
Please help
