Hey, i have been using Kazaa for quite some time now, and I love it. Recently, though, I was told that bugs are common if you are using kazaa, and that winmx has better mp3 sound quality options. kazaa will only go up to 128kbps, where on winmx it is possible to find mp3s with 320kbps. can anyone tell me what the recommended sound quality is for burning onto cds? will 128 do? i like the layout of kazaa a lot better than winmx, and it seems to download things a lot faster for me, but i want good quality songs... if anyone can help me, i'd really appreciate it. Thanks a bunch.
Kazaa is rumored to contain spyware; I recommend you ditch it immediately! The new version of WinMX is unmatched anyway; integrated chat, multipoint d/ling/ auto-complete, and on and on. And you can search for stuff of a specific bitrate, if you want, but winmx will always supply it's opinion on the quality of search-generated files. In the bitrate column, the crappy ones are red, the so-so ones are yellow, and the good ones are green. Personally, since I have dialup (sad I know), I settle for the high-end yellows and have yet to be disappointed. They play great on my comp and on my stereo via homemade CD.
Kazaa is a cowering eunoch, begging the music corps for its patronage. 128kbs -whats the point?
Winmx is a full on cyberpunk rebel of an app -no restictions, no creeping about -no spyware, not even a tracable company to bring down.
The powers that write it are anonymous, theyve banged it out and millions of computer users who dont want to take any repressive bull from yesterdays suppliers -are using it- to share anything they want.
Its open enough to track down kiddieporn merchants or terrorists for that matter, but we'll have see how it goes when court summons start getting sent to big music and video servers. Cause media distributors are going to try and fight this -just like horse drawn carrage makers tried to ban the combustion engine. Thats whats its all about -progress, chaos and adapting.
Kazaa users - cant you see the light?
Just Try...
Depending on the the source 128 bit can sound as good as cd quality. Generally the higher bitrates are but not always. As far as only being able to download 128bit encoded songs on Kazaa, that is false. Search the net and you will find tutorials that will help you edit your registry to find all bitrates. It takes less than a minute to do this and doesn't hurt a thing. By the way I've been using Kazaa over 6mths and Love it!!
Thanks rick! I've never heard that that was possible, but i'll search the web and see if i can find anything. I have gotten used to winmx though...it is now just as easy as kazaa to use...i just get sick of waiting in lines for songs.
