hi everyone here..

i received this error "Cannot detect dualshock 2 analog controller in port 1.. please insert a controller.." (something like that) when i load up my FF12..

i'm using the original controller that comes with my ps2 slim. A point to note is that my controller's right analog stick is not working. is this the cause of the problem? i had no issue with other games.. except ff 12 & sword of destiny..

I wonder if anyone had experienced this problem and manage to solve it? And should I buy a new analog controller? I really appreciate any help/comments.

The fact is that not all PS2 games require the DUALSHOCK 2(GTA,WWESMKDWN GAMES).
so the Right analog stick does not matter to them. But the games that are made specially with the DUALSHOCK 2(BURNOUT,BLACK,NFS) will look for analog sticks. It seems like FF Games are made to be used with DS2 so they don't work. Best thing to do would be get it repaired or buy a new DUALSHOCK 2.

you said that games that are made specially with the DUALSHOCK 2 will look for analog sticks.. So are FFX & FFX-2 made specially this way? Because I have no problem with these games..

hey guys!

I just bought a new orignal PS2 controller & my problem is finally solved.. i now can play many games that were previously unplayable..

for those with this problem like mine.. do yourself a favour and buy a new controller.. ;)
