Ok, so I ripped the vobs with dvddecrypter, no problems. Then I started dvd2avi, and about halfway through the movie the video appears scrambled and I get a "p.e.!" message in the dvd2avi status window. The resulting d2v file causes virtualdubmod to crash. What does this mean?

Maybe the dvd was defective.

Have you tried reripping the VOB files and try making a .d2v file again?

Maybe DVD Decrypter messed up during the ripping process. Consider using another ripper. SmartRipper is a good one.

Ugh. I tried using smartripper(several times) with the same results and same areas scrambled. I guess the dvd is defective. But the weird thing is, I ran it through a Nero cdspeed check and it seemed fine. Damn you murphy's law!

yeah, the surface scan showed no problems, and the dvd dosen't look scratched. I tried to play it on a friend's dvd player, and it had the same scrambling problems. So... I guess this dvd was just made defective. Hope that dosen't happen again.

If you are asking for a refund explain that it wont play on your DVD's and they should give you it.
