why do certain retail purchased dvds don't load in my ps2??? I tried retail purchased dvds blade 3, the longest yard and rush hour 2 and they use to work in my ps2 all the time now they won't load at all. I dont get an error screen just this weird noise from my ps2 so I just eject the disc. On the other hand I put 3 burned dvds in the system and they work flawlessly. I also put the 3 retail purchased dvds in my portable dvd player, my stand alone and my pc and they worked flawlessly. Can anyone tell me what I should to help my pc with playing retail dvds??? Should I buy a lens head cleaner??? Anyone have any advice on what I can do to help this situation???

if you get disc read error you can always do the drive tweaking method well even if you dont get that error you can still tweak the drive some and that may help

i would agree with the laser issues. you could try the tweaks as mentioned above and see if they will play. if not, your laser may be on the way out.
