How do I change/find bit settings....

I've been having some trouble with my laptop-burnt games...I think it may have something to do with my bit settings (whatever those are).

Can somebody either explain how to make sure that my bit-settings are compatible with the firmware-flashed 360, or point out a guide or link that does the same?

The burner is a Philips SDVD8820...
