Hey guys its my first day and the last few fourms have helped me out alot! Ive gotten all the way to the part where I need to get the unrared file the .ISO file to Clone CD with the .DVD file my only problem is its only allowing me to submit one to be burned and it happens to be the .ISO file. So I went ahead and burned it. When the game was done I put it in my 360 and its reading it as a multi media disc. I do have both the .ISO file and the .DVD file in the same folder but it wont let me just select the folder to be burned. If you guys know what my problem is or know how to solve it. Please help. Thanks for everything and this wonderful site.

You don't have to burn the .dvd file but if you're using CloneCD you need to burn the .dvd file. DVD Decrypter and IMGBurn you don't need the .dvd file. You manually set the layer break.
That's why your backup won't boot. You didn't specify the layerbreak when you burned the .iso
Reburn with CloneCD (use the .dvd file) and burn at 4x (Screw 2.4x) and see if it works.

Thanks for the quick reply. Iam new to this so bear with me sorry. When I go to select the .dvd file to be burned its not letting me hit next. Do I need to drag the .dvd file into the .iso file so both files are one, then burn?

First, you need to get the .iso and the .dvd file
Maybe you need to extract the .rar file with WinRAR
When you get done you should have both a .dvd file (a few kbs) and either a .000 or .iso file (around 7Gig)
Then

Open the .dvd file in notepad
Make sure it says this
LayerBreak=1913760
gow.iso (if this is the name of the .iso, just make sure it matches the .iso or .000 file)

Save this .dvd file as GOW.dvd and burn that .dvd file

I just spoke with someone about this....I Download PAL files instead of NTSC files and he said that might be the problem. Do you agree with him that, that could be a problem why i cant get the .DVD file to be able to be burned?

If it's Gears of War then it's ok because that game is Region Free. Be sure to check if the game is region free before you burn it as PAL locked games will not boot in a NTSC 360.

I am having a similar problem as Brian. After i am done merging the ISO file and the SS file together using SS merger. It creates a .DVD icon on my desktop. When i tried to burn with clonecd it wont let me select the .DVD file that was created by SS merger. How do i get clonecd to recognize and burn the .DVD file??

p.s.
(I got the ISO file by performing the "hotswap" method)
backup

there is no need to set the layer break with imgburn as long as you have the latest version or any version above v2.0

When I unrar the files do i need to include the .dvd file? Should i have all the 1-68.rar files or whatever and the .dvd file go through WinRAR then extract it to a premade file?
