I need some help here.
My PS2 stopped reading discs and i cleaned the lens, problem solved, now i have another issue, whenever i try to open the disc tray it makes a weird noise as if something is rusty, i insert the game and when it's supposed to start running it gives that noise again, does anyone have any tips on how to fix this?

it will be very hard to fix with just a description, PS2's make all kinds of funny noises for all kinds of reasons.
Here are a few things to check:
1. make sure that when you cleaned the laser, hopefully with alcohol and a cotton swap, that you did not leave any fibers from the cotton swap on it.
2. you may also wat to try adjusting the laser to make sure you did
not press too hard and get it out of alignment.
3. make sure that when you were in there you did not somehow knock the disc tray out of alignment or off it's track.
most likely if the drawer still opens it is either #1 or #2

that'd be kinda hard to do, they only run on gears on one side, and pins keep it in alignment on the other, unless one of those pins was broken and that would take effort on someones part to do that just cleaning the lens.
KC, that is not exactly correct.
Just ask anyone who has had their tray stick in the closed
or open position. Or the nice one where the disc tray opens half way then just shuts itself before it even fully opens.
I had to fix mine before. It can get out of it's proper grove

those are problems with the eject release pin track, has nothing to do with tray alignment.
