I'm adjusting my cube's pot so I can run backups. I started at 210 (it was at 184 originally, but I went up) and went down in increments of 15-20. Anything more than 94 won't run backups, but they run fine at 94.
Is setting it that low going to harm my laser?
I have a platinum cube (DOL-001B I think) and I'm using G04 mini DVD-Rs. The drive revision is april 2002. If 94 is too low, does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get it to run backups at a higher pot?

it depends i have heard that certain gamecube models have issues if you set the pot to high
everything from burning out the laser to even having the cd drive fail or just burn a hole in the cd drive

platinum gamecubes have had several issues and i dont know if nintendo ever got around to fixing them???
