I've read that Memorex aren't the greatest for burning games. Ritek, Verbatim and Sony work well. Also, I haven't had a problem with Office Depot brand disks.

Also, you may want to clean your laser lens. It may help with the load time.

Mod your gaming console today!

memorex are generally horrible. You may find a person here or there who said that they used them with success. But for every 1 you find there will be 10 that will tell you they suck.

Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Philips and some Sony are your best bet.
If you can order online and are in the US Supermediastore.com
is a great store.
If not then what i would do is buy a few quality brands at a local store, but only buy a 3 or 5 pack of them until you find one that works every time. This will cost a little more, but if you buy a 25 pack to save money and they do not work well, then you have not saved anything.

Well, that all depends how you burn it, or if its your laser. How long have you been using those memorex?

ive had them for a while, i have like 50 games on memorex, but i havent really played all of them on my new playstation which i only had for about a month or so because everythings so skippy that i dont even waste my time playing any of them, i used to be able to play them on my hard drive but my hard drive got all dumb and wouldnt load games anymore( so i put it in my computer) so basically ive been playing official ps2 games like guitar hero, but if i could get games to run better, ill do anything to make that happen :)

you don't have to do anything, just something
Like switch to a quality media brand (8X DVD-R)
If the system is new i doubt highly that the problem is the laser
It is probably because the new PS2 just doesn't read those
discs very well. I had some like that because a friend gave then to me and he used TDK. They worked great for him but on my system were skipping or had other problems. I took the disc re-burned the
game to my brand of media at the time (Philips 8X DVD-R)
and the problem was solved.
If all the games worked fine before on your old system you can just re-burn them to better media that this PS2 reads better.
