Sorry for what is sure to be obvious to most, but an hour of searching has yielded no results. What is the most current version of Fastloader? Are there any other UMD-to-ISO dumpers that are more advanced/newer/better?

I have also read about "umddaxdumper" and "umdumper" but have no idea which is superior. I usually use the qj.net file server to find the most recent versions of things, but ISO use of any kind is strictly a forbidden topic over there. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for the reply. Is there any benefit to using umddaxdumper or umdumper? I know and trust anything I get from DAx, so that's a bonus. From what I've read, it also seems that umddaxdumper will dump directly to my PC. The only benefit I see there is saving a few transfers of I wanted to slim down my ISO.

That being said, and changing direction slightly, I understand that I can unpack my ISO, remove padding files, and repack. I have also come across something called a rip kit. Would it be too much to ask for a brief description of the rip kit? I know that it provides information regarding how to slim down an ISO, but how does it differ from a set of text instructions indicating "remove files x, y, and z"? I see that they can be fairly large in size, so I am wondering just what is in them and what I need to do to take advantage of them.

Before anybody gets all in a knot, yes, I have Google this and I have searched the forums. I've read quite a bit, but am just looking for a succinct explanation. Thanks much for all of your help thus far, Smurff.

rip kits are automated versions of (remove this, dummy that) does all the work for you.

i just use Fastloader and UMD Gen to rebuild my iso's and an occasionally a ripkit, but those are far and few between.
