I read the thread that basically makes it foolproof to burn a dvd

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/...d_decrypter.cfm

but for some reason i keep getting a null DVD when i'm done. I've now wasted 2 dvd's!

I am using DVD Shrink to shrink the size down to < 4.7 G, then i converted the video folder (that was the only folder created that had files) to an ISO with the iso converter.

Then i used DVD Decrypter to write iso to DVD. It is pretty straight forward but i can't understand what is going wrong to not make a proper DVD. THe DVD created is coming up as an error in a dvd player and in the CPU it shows that there is something on it, but i can't open the dvd to see any files when i double click on it.

Any advice? Much thanks in advance!

Set DVD Shrink to output an ISO instead of VIDEO_TS folders. You can either burn the ISO after DVD Shrink creates it or set up DVD Shrink to automatically burn the ISO with DVD Decrypter.

Are you using good quality DVD media? It could be possible that the blank disc you are using are not compatible with your stand alone DVD player.

Thank you so much for the helpful reply with screen shots!

I will try the ISO setting option later today.

I am using Verbatim DVD -R, i am wondering, is it possible my burner is not compatable with -R and needs +R? I wasn't sure about that when i bought these and don't know how to find out which type i need. THanks again!

It says both are compatible. DVD-R or DVD+R so you should be ok with them.

I think i was doing something wrong...

I run the Shrink to get the file down to an allowable size (in most cases it seems like it is cutting it to 60% original size.)

I had run the Decrypter on test mode, and it ran for about 10 minutes on that. Now i thought my DVD was done after that, but it seems it's blank still so i think that didn't burn it only tested it, right?

Now when i take it off test mode, i get an error saying:

DeviceIoControl(FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME) Failed!
Device: [1:0:0]_NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A 102C (E:) (ATA)
Unable to lock volume for exclusive access.
