First, you can find most of the information you need here in the Guides, and then some...
Do you want to copy them to a dvd?
Do you want to copy them to a file on your computer?
- to burn to a dvd at your leisure?
- to watch on the computer as a movie file (AVI, DivX, etc..)?
Do you want just the movie without all the extras?
I guess the first step is to decide exactly what you want....

Download ripit4me

You can get it here:

http://www.ripit4me.org

Read the guide that is at the site it will take you step by step through the process and it has pictures. it will let you know what other programs you need and where to get them. (All FREE)

Also use good discs (Verbatim)

If you have any problems this is a Great Site to go to.

I use ripit4me to, if your not a little advanced in the backup burning thing AnyDVD makes a little easy, they are newbs I just wanted to get them going, Because there are many ways to burn movies. Use Verbatim DVDRs...( if you have blanks and they are not Verbatim use them for music ,pictures and data and get Verbatim for your movies!!! ) I use the DVD- some people use DVD+ see what works on your stand alone players .If you don't get freeze ups or thoese lego looking things then you are good

Thanks to everyone who lent a helping hand, unfortunately I must be a complete idiot b/c I followed a guide on another forum using three different programs and failed and then tried ripit4me and keep getting stuck. I open the program go under preferences and click on the bottom box however when I do this it opens up a folder box but no matter what name I put in the box it tells me it is invalid. I'm going to try any dvd next. Hopefully 5th times a charm. Thanks Again!

@ahenry18

Have you downloaded decrypter, Shrink and fixvts? In Ripit4me Are you talking about the path where to link fixvts?

Go back to the Ripit4me site and download the installer and try that.

Okay, I am determined to figure this out, how hard can it be? So I downloaded one of everything literally, dvd decryptor, DVD Shrink, ripit4me (and ripit4me installer), and dvdfabdecryptor.
Question 1 I got the ripit4me set up and installed however I am getting a message that says: Your fixVTS path points to ripit4me.exe but should point to fixVTS.exe. When I go under GB will these work or no?
Alright, thats all the questions for now b/c I don't know what lies ahead since I can't get past this. Thanks again, for all your help.

your getting close now its time to do some homework its not hard, go to the guides they are on AD they show you in detail how to setup your combo of programs Ripit4me needs fixvts to remove the blocks Shrink is used to make the movie fit on a 4.7 gig disc DVD Decrypter is used to burn it to the disc OK I know now you will get basted with different combo's of programs but thats a good thing but please go and read the guides its to much to type and they are real easy to follow stay in touch

@ahenry18

Leave everything alone. Uninstall fixvts. Then then go to the vixvts zip folder right click on it go to extract, then where it says extract to folder, Change that to C:\Program Files. Then hit ok. Then open Ripit4me go to settings, then go to preferences, Then at fixvts Path. change that to C:\Program Files

Hope this helps. Let us know if it works out for you. If it doesn't KEEP TRYING. I know how important those videos are to a service man.
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Want some guides to guide you how to rip and backup any DVDs? Remember, DVD Shrink alone can not handle any of the newer released, so you'll need either DVDFab Decrypter or RipIt4Me (both are FREE and really easy to follow).

In case if you needed any help or guides, simply follow/read and try any from 2 of the best FREE rippers below.

Rip any DVDs with RipIt4Me +DVD Shrink + ImgBurn
Revised DVDFab +VobBlanker (or FixVTS) +DVD Shrink guide

NOTE: If using DVDFab Decrypter method, simply skip VobBlanker or FixVTS, unless DVD Shrink has encountered an error and can not continue.

If DVD Shrink has any errors, you'll need to do one of the following:
(1) process the ripped files (VIDEO_TS.IFO) through VobBlanker
(2) process the VOB (or VTS files) with FixVTS.

Best of luck!!
