i have a hitachi drive 0059. I got the slax cd. I got the sata card in the tut for hitachi. here is where i am, I installed the card in my cpu. I hooked up my 360 to the card and ran the slax it goes thru till the login screen comes on. I reboot my cpu and it just boots back to slax. so i removed the cd and it booted to windows. windows shows my drives. I have a cdrw drive and a dvdrom drive then my 360 drive is getting recongized. the problem is I tried to follow the tut from there and I can't get it to flash. Please help

What drive letter did it assign?
Next, with OPA 2.3 you need to go to the X-LG folder in dos (cmd.exe)
then type flash23s.bat "your drive letter" 1234 and hit enter
that's it.

Extract all the files of the opa 2.3 to C:
then click start
run
cmd.exe
it will bring you to c:\documents and settings\blah blah\blah
type cd\
it will take you to C:\
type DIR
it should show you the X-LG folder
type cd\X-LG
you should be at c:\x-lg\
then type flash23s.bat
it's basic dos, you have to go to the directory that the flash23s.bat file is in while in DOS
If you can't do that, I'm sorry but I can't help you anymore on it.
Here, Check this

And to anyone else that doesn't have a clue about DOS, please read this.
I find it amazing that you guys want to flash your 360 and are technically proficient enough to do it, but don't have a clue about DOS.

when i downloaded 2.3 i saved it to the desktop and extracted it there. I wasnt aware that I needed to save it to the c: drive. I was aware how to get to dos but when i tried it, it didnt work. so that fixes that issue. but what about the issue that slax keeps getting stuck until i eject the drive. is that normal? Ill try it this way now that ive been clarfied however please take it easy on newbies to the hitachi mod. thanx for the help and maybe i wont run into anymore issues.

I am taking it easy on the Hitachi modders. But honestly, I believe you shouldn't even be modding your 360 if you don't know enough on how to change directories in dos. My opinion but it's covered countless times here on Afterdawn.
As for your other question, some PC's hang if you don't eject the Hitachi drive while booting into windows. Some don't. Mine didn't
As for slax, it's the same as windows. You can have the drive either ejected or in. Whatever works for you.
