Ok so as the title states i want to install this software but i get an error message saying i need SP2 in order to install it. However i don't want SP2. Is there some sort of way i can install it but avoid sp2?

nope, your gonna have to install SP2. Its not all that bad. I hesitited for a while but finally upgraded a few months ago. I have no complaints, all my apps still work find under SP2.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

It does not effect torrents. And all Sp2 is as the best to my knowledge is a lil crappy Microsoft firewall that does nothing. Install it and then use an alternate firewall. :)

They're not rumors, they are problems that CAN arise, but they don't always do.
Some people have problems because SP2 changes your halfopen TCP connections to 10.
There are patches that fix that.
Now get that SP2 before some scriptkiddie gets into your system, and start doing regular updates.
