after several posts on different threads, and still unable to resolve my 2.71 se-c problem (all homebrew either freezes up, or gives me error 80020148 or DADADADA) i've given up altogether on trying to downgrade back to 1.50 or a normal 2.71. i decided to upgrade to 2.80 and wait for another exploit to surface. but lo and behold even that won't work. "AN OFFICIAL SONY UPDATE to 2.80 WON'T WORK ON MY PSP". what the hell is wrong with my psp? i don't get it at all. i wanna throw it against a wall now. it boots up and plays mp3's and videos, but other than that it's sh*t.

do you have an eboot in your recover folder? the 1.5 update eboot perhaps? or did u not put anything in there?

yes, i renamed to update.pbp and placed in the recovery folder. i've actually tried it with 1.50, 2.0, 2.60 and 2.71. but it won't even go into the recovery menu. irshell works but it won't run devhook. devhook itself won't run anything, so i can't emulate other firmwares. i think i got a corrupt flash. i followed the se-c guide; put the 1.50 and 2.71 eboots into the update maker folder, then copied the resulting file to the update flasher folder. and the result was a semi-bricked psp. as i said, it'll boot up, look fine, but won't run anything.
