Well, I got the 360, now it's time for the modchip. First off, I have found this one and am definitely thinking it's the best one.

If I'm not mistaken, you're actually soldering the DVD drive and not the actual 360 itself, correct? So if I mess up could I get a new 360 DVD drive? What would I do if I messed up soldering?

Has anyone installed it on their 360? How hard / easy was it? What are your soldering skills? How is it working now that you've installed it?

If you guys recommend a different one, I would like to look into that to.

Thanks for all your help!

I wouldn't go for a chip dude.
Get the drive flashed, no soldering required.
Mine was done in 5 minutes.

I don't know. I keep hearing bout these flash things but, in my opinion, the chip looks a lot better. I'd love for someone to give me a good reason otherwise. With the flash I'm a bit scared of my 360 messing up.

After flashing, is there a way to take it off if I don't like it?

I would go for the chip it deactivates it self if you are not playing a back up and it dosent not mod your firmware. So chances are if they ban firmware modders you will be safe.

No. If they release a ban, it'll stop both chip and firmware users. I think the firmware users would actually be more safe, because someone might be able to make a new firmware update that renders the ban useless and people can just update; however, it's harder to update with a new chip.

Besides firmware being totally free unlike chips, firmware is way more supported and constantly updated with newer better features. That's just not the case with these chips. Once you put it on there that's it until you put a new one on there.
