Ok did i brick my xbox?

Ok i did the splintercell softmod on my friends xbox and installed unleashx, it was as easy as pie, i stuck in some burned games they worked just fine, and i stuck in originals no problem there either. Well my friend takes it home and his son plays on it trying to find the music he had on his harddrive. Well my best guess is he deleted a file cause now when you turn the xbox on it does the normal green blob screen leading to the Big X and the microsoft appears underneath it then after that nothing else happens. Ive tried burned games, originals, i tried the slayers boot disc, and i cant tell whats happened. Whats really weird is it doesnt even give me an error code it just freezes after microsoft shows up. Anyone got any ideas?

if u can get to that part you can use a fourm about hot swap because that unlocks the hard drive and u can use pc to replace the needed files
