Is the Samsung SH-D162c a SATA DVD-ROM drive or a EIDE DVD-ROM drive? I was looking on the net for a SATA version and I cant find one. I found a EIDE version on www.vesalia.com

When I get it, how do I update the firmware?

if it is not pre flashed with the kreon firmware then return when you have got the drive and then we will take it from there :)

A friend was also looking for 162c sata's and was told they might be out of production. I'm not saying that's true, but they're impossible to find.

On the other hand, I have seen 163a sata's. That might be a better bet if you wanted sata.

Check on Ebay. I got one a few days ago. Just checked Ebay and the same seller shows 8 available. Search with "Black Samsung *SH-D162C* DVD-Drive Kreon v.081 Xbox 360"
