My PS2 read any CD's but not DVD's

This morning I start my PS2 inseart a game(backup) and I hear the laser was trying really hard to read the game(but the game start).Then I inseart other game the message with wrong disk appear(I put an backup disk).Then try with original game...he works just ok then I disassemble the PS2 and the problems start now I endup wit h PS2 that reand any CD's but not DVD's what must be the problem

I have modded v10 PS2 with new laser and lase protection fix

Hate to say it but this sure sounds like a laser issue.

What brand DVD media are you using and is it DVD-R or DVD+R?

But this is new laser on less than 2 month and on LA6508(he is new too) has 5v decrease(romeo mod) :( I use Sony DVD-R.The laser red light is realy low is like not working at all but CD's works great(works even better than on my PS1)what could be the problem is there is a way or some guide that tell's how to fix this I already pay a lot of money for this PS2(works for month and again is dead:( )

You have indicated that you have had the Romeo mod done to your LA6508. This indicates that you have either a V9 or V10. The V9/10's are well over 2 years old so I do not understand how you come up with the laser being only 2 months old, unless maybe you have had a new laser installed which there could be the issue as well. Not all "new" lasers are actually new. Most if not all lasers being sold for the fat PS2's currently are refurbished junk.

I have seen incidents where returning the LA6508 back to 12V made the laser work much better. But then your unprotected from the laser overdrive syndrome... which in reality very seldom happens even on console that are modded and dont have the Romeo mod.
