I'm going to buy an xbox 360 today brand new. I need to know if the current version in stores is able to modded to play backup games. I have done some reading and i understand there are a couple of different dvd drives and the media used for backups is dvd + DL and verbatim is a good brand to use. I currently have a modded ps2 with a chip and i'm wondering if the 360 needs a chip or just update the firmware. I also have a pc with a sata drive and a lite-on dvd 16x burner that does dl. Sorry for asking such noob questions but i have been reading for hours and the info i stated in this post is pretty much all i have learned. Thanks in advance.

all xbox 360 drives can be flashed.there are some good vids on you tube.opening them up /flashing the drive etc.hitachi easy.tosh/samsung get yourself a flashable usb instead of trying with floppys.you can get all firmware etc from xbins.
