Editing VOB/IDX files on KiSS DP-558

I've just bought myself a KiSS DP-558. It's marvellous. I want to edit the VOB/IDX files to trim the start and finish of some programs I have recorded. I used Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD to trim the VOB file, but it didn't seem to need the idx file. The only way I could re-export the VOB file was through a DVD Builder option, which created a few other files. The edited file won't play back properly -if I fast-forward through the file, it always restarts, and it doesn't play to the end, only about 65% of the file.

Anyone got any ideas how to do this properly?
