List of some personal complaints about the system itself, its user interface, it's games, or whatever you'd like. Then Let us know what you would like to see change to make those complaints go away. This thread is being made so everyone can share little features, or lack-there-of, that need attention, so that maybe sony could stumble accross this and take a hint.
I would like to start off by saying what up with the ps3 unable to multitask? I play some music to play while I backup my saves and download the new update. Come to find out when you listen to music copying is disabled in any form, to or from any source. You also can't do anything like edit settings, download updates, or visit the PS:Store while listening to music. Nothing but internet browsing will let you listen to it.
Another dissagreement I have is with the lack of multitasking when it comes to downloads or transfers. When im download a 900mb demo i want to play, I should be able to watch a movie or change the music, or at the very least still browse. Or you know what? Maybe top the xbox 360 and have a queue that will line have all your download going in the backround so you could play a game while they work.
And did sony ban use of in-game play of music from the hdd? No games support playing your own music that I know of, will any ever? I would really like to play to my own tunes sometimes, game soundtracks can get old fast sometimes.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

how predictable. rumbles been discussed the world over already and i dont want this centered around it. i find no care it its absence, its rather needless overall and the cost of the controller is already high with the sixaxis. i'm glad for the sixaxis over rumble, but both wouldnt have hurt more than pockets.

Some changes i would like :
Better use of the system's capabilities *multi tasking, in game soundtrack usage like on the xbox*
Dumping that sixaxis bullsh*t, and maybe they could add some proper wires for that thing, or come up with a proper, wired replacement *i hate wireless controllers*, maybe put rumble back in *because some of us DO miss that*
More fixes for incompatible psx and ps2 games, and fast ! *it cost me enough, you'd think they could at least try to get it right*
Support for proper sized harddrives *i'm getting fed up with both microsoft and sony about these tiny f***ing HD's that cost waaaaaay too much*
And on that matter, how about having the option to add a second harddrive to keep an alternate linux and other stuff on ?
*yes, i'm aware of USB harddrive options, but that's not what i mean*

I cant comment yet since I dont have one but my thoughts are they need to start doing somethin with the Sixaxis it should have been a launch game that took advantage of it . They spent alot of money on this new feature and should be takin full advantage of it . Seems like they put it on the back burner but on the rumble , I made a thread about a new headset thats comming out thats for the Ps3 its worth a read. I'm gonna start saving up so I can get mines since the craze has died down ALOT lol the ebays numbers are wayyyyyyy down now . I also keep seeing more online which is good news for me !

well i dont mind rumble loss for another reason.. sometimes it just rumbles all the d*mn time. almost never stopping. what we dont ever need to ee again is just rumble. what we need us rumble, jerks, shakes, side-specific vibes, pushes, and that stuff. so if i get shot in the beck the controller budges its weight a little forward. if i land a vehicle, it throws its weight down and then up wish some shaking. this is all possible, i could even draw out the plans. the controller could be a bit large tho, im not sure about the componants sizes or placement. does anyone else think this would be cool? not just simple rumble, but a whole army of game-indulging movments.

That, indeed, would be a great implementation of the rumble function.
It would make 1st person shooters sooo much easier.

life doesnt rumble, it moves. that could be their slogan or something.. god i wish i had the money and a company to support me to release my own console.
and on the price of the ps3. i dont mind it. people complain so much, but look at these figures.
the ps3 loses sony ~60% on the 20gb, and ~40% on the 60gb, a $300 to ~$240
the x360 breaks ~even on the core and gains ~18% on the premium, a ~$0 to ~$75 gain
the wii gains nintendo ~37% per sale, a ~$90 gain.
i dont want to throw money at a console thats making money out of the gates. thats paying for techknowlagy os old as an r9250 and the pentium 3. buying both the 360 and the wii you are losing more than the ps3, like it or not.

another dislike im having is how a usb mouse or keyboard or anything really has to be plugged in before booting or the console does not read my ports. i've tried all ports when it was on and all failed. then when the left port worked i used it and didnt test the other 3 for my suspected dead usb's, but i will soon to make sure.

The only change that comes to mind would be having a FULLY analog SixaxiS controller just like the PS2's Dual Shock. WITHOUT rumble of course as I could care less for it and like how light the controller feels with the added bonus of battery life since there is no waste spinning a weight.
But if I remember correctly the PS1 didn't come with Rumble, that came out later. Then the PS2 came out and it had Rumble with every button analog. So hopefully the integration of a SixaxiS with all analog buttons will come out later like the PS1 example..? One can hope.

oh, and would anyone else like to see the sixaxis be able to controll scrolling through the xmb, with a little deadplay in the center of course to help unsteady hands?
or maybe the option to not boot the game on the disk automatically?
how about the option for real folders in music pictures and video. there are some videos i'd rather not have their titles seen, let alone automatically played.
lets not forget the option to have different users have different pictures movies and music. or maybe for each user to share selected files with each user.
also, why are there no passwords for the user accounts?

@anubis:
The RedKawa fileserver only allows you to transfer files - not stream media. We're looking for something along the lines of Windows Media Connect for the 360 or streaming video from a WinXP MCE PC to the 360. This way you can keep the media files on larger PC drives and not have to transfer them to the PS3's HD.

an external drive with two usb outs is your best best there right know, i'd say.
i also would like to be able to check my messages in-game using the os. the os needs to be able to run in-game, why doesnt it? it keeps a whole spe to itself. even if it was just for messages and nothing else could be done but maybe game selection.
