Can someone tell me why my burn speed keeps jumping back to 1.8 times and never more ? I use dvd decryptor, DVD Shrink and ripit 4me. I am using a pretty new pioneer burner with 12 times capability. I land up with perfect copies nearly every time no problem there ! but why does the writing speed never go above 1.8 times? In DVD Decrypter in the iso write box the write speed is set on auto. Any ideas folks ? any help would be great. I use ritek media 8X.

What's the last time you updated your firmware? Try to get the latest firmware available to your drive and try 1st class media like: Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or Hitachi Maxell (Made In Japan).

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

i have had the exact same problem for quite some time now. This a.m. i finally got it fixed. Now i'm back to read rate 4 to 7, when b4 it was 1.8 or so. With all the talk of dma/pio i noticed my secondary controller was pio, & i had no way of changing it. What i did was right clicked that controller & clicked uninstall. I rebooted my system & finally it was back to dma. Bingo after a month of misery with slow reads I got my problem fixed. Make sure both of your controllers are on dma & not pio & your problem will be fixed. Good luck!!
