I just did Cars and Pirates 2 with 6.0.9.5 (Cars) and 6.0.9.7 (Pirates 2) and had no problems. I ripped the files to the hard drive, turned off AnyDVD and then opened the decrypted files in the transcoding software (you have Shrink). Once you get a good rip, just about any transcoder should compress for burning to DVD5. Shrink is good, just remember to use the quality settings when you go to burn.
About the best freeware software is RipIt4Me. It uses Shrink, DVD Decrypter, and FixVTS to do the complete job of backing up a DVD. It does the decryption, uses FixVTS if necessary to make sure the ripped DVD files are compliant and opens Shrink to trancode the movie and can burn with DVD Decrypter.

@aliwatts
Get the latest DVDFab Decrypter and your problem will be solved.
In case if you needed any help or guides, simply read and follow the guide and you'll be fine to rip and backup any DVDs.
PIRATES OF CARIBBEAN 2 guide using DVDFab Decrypter
NOTE: Simply skip VobBlanker or FixVTS, unless DVD Shrink has encountered an error and can not continue.
If DVD Shrink has any errors, you'll need to do one of the following:
(1) process the ripped files (VIDEO_TS.IFO) through VobBlanker
(2) process the VOB (or VTS files) with FixVTS.
Best of luck!!
EDITED to insert NOTE.

Ripit4Me does all the checks automatically and runs the FixVTS and Shrink. You don't even need to know when or how to use FixVTS. If you choose to open Shrink in the wizard without using FixVTS and it's needed, the RipIt4Me will tell you to select FixVTS which it then runs for you. That's the wizard method. It has a one click method where you just click a button and let it run. I think there were a few movies it had trouble with, but it was recently updated. None of the decrypters are perfect. I've had problems with DVDFab Decrypter and AnyDVD as well. Usually one will work when the other encountered a problem. Pays to keep more than one app and know how to use them.

You're welcome.
For ease, many of us use AnyDVD. It's kept up with the new copy protections better than most. But there is freeware available that does a good job. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to have more than one program. None of these apps are perfect and it pays to have an option or 3. RipIt4Me incorporates some of the better freeware mentioned here. It consists of the RipIt4Me control, FixVTS, DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink. That would be a good setup to add to your arsenal and it costs nothing. Garmoon was kind enough to supply the link in his post. Alkohol even mentioned some of these apps in his post. These guys know their stuff, so you get more for Christmas than just AnyDVD. LOL
To everyone here, have a merry Christmas and happy new year.
