I am a newbie. I want to rip from one DVD to another DVD.

Is there a way to rip directly to the blank DVD so that I do NOT need a huge amount of hard drive space? For instance, does DVD XCopyXpress DIRECTLY copy from DVD to DVD .... or does it require lots of hard drive space?

I am a newbie .... so thanks for help.

You can copy on the fly but it is definitely not recommended. Buffer under run is a lot more seceptible on DVD's than it is on CD's. Buy a bigger hard drive.

You don't need a huge amount of HD space. Most movies will use up about 4gb of space only if you use DVDXCopy xpress or DVD Shrink. Don't forget that when the copying is finished the files should go to the recycle bin from where you delete, freeing up all the HD space for you to use again.

if it is in DVD-9 format, I use DVD2One. That really doesnt address the hard drive space issue...but still...about the hard drive? I got a 40 WD hard drive for (new) 20 dollars after rebate...the deal was actually 40gig-$40, but the guy lied to me on the phone, and when i came in...he gave me a discount. Hard drives are getting very cheep, just buy another one....
