PS3 Owners Can Hear It All With The AX360 Don't let the letters and numbers confuse you, this is not news for the Xbox 360. And fear not, there?s no reason to be confounded dear gamers, especially PS3 gamers. You?ll soon have the opportunity to own the AX360. No, it?s not a game and it?s not a controller. It?s Tritton?s Audio Xtreme 360 Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound Headset.
There?s four fully adjustable speakers in each earcup of the headset, providing gamers with remarkable surround sound quality. Gamers can even adjust the settings to their liking, allowing for even more depth from the audio quality of the games you play. Hear bullets pass by as if you were standing in the warzone, or listen to the engines purr as you rev them up at the starting line. Every auricular experience in gaming will come to life with Tritton?s AX360.
The AX360 connects to the PS3 through the optical port, and provides total audio control with inline adjustments for front, side, rear, and subwoofer. The headset even contains rumble features (something that PS3 controllers are now without). And according to the press release, Chris Von Huben, president of Tritton Technologies, commented that "Every gamer has been told to turn down the volume, which takes away from the gaming experience. With the AX360, gamers can personally experience extreme HD audio, getting the most from games or Blu-ray movies, without bothering anyone."
There?s even a removable microphone for VoIP and PC connections. The AX360 has the suggested retail price of $129.95, and the package includes support for two headsets. Any additional headsets can be purchased for $59.95. For further information or details regarding the AX360, you can visit Tritton Technologies Main Website.
This sounds pretty cool we will have to best of both worlds what do you guys think ?

That is F'in awesome, so much for ppl bitchin about rumble controllers is now more interactive and with this headset, will make feel more like your inside the game, so sweeeeeet. Although I am alittle scared being there are a bunch of p#$@y gamers out there and will find an excuse for a lawsuit (going def, headaches, etc) because of the rumble on head set or being to loud, but who knows. I will own one and will love it.

I agree , when I do get my Ps3 Im pretty sure I will try this out lol I dont want to blow my ears out so maybe I will put it on a low or medium setting . I think this will really make you feel like your in the game and whats great is you dont have to blast your T.v to do so . That means people can get some sleep while you enjoy your games to the fullest.

Nice, very similar to my PC headset (5.1 Surround, front, side, rear, and subwoofer). I think I will wait until they come out with a Bluetooth one though.

@Oner yeah I would love to have a bluetooth headset like that, but think it will be more expensive.
@blackgoku
Yeah I know what you mean, I always play late at night but with very little sound being that I have it on 1500 watt surrond sound and can't enjoy because kids and wife are asleep, which now I would blast on the headset and enjoy it with sound on late hrs LOL.

Dont understand the thread title. Sure immersion forced sony to leave out rumble, but these do nothing to change that. The PS3 system it self has no rubble incorporated, its not just the controllers. And the games are not designed with rumble. I would say the rumble support is for when these are used with a 360, or they are just simulating rumble when bass is played.
So again, this has little or no impact to Immersion.

Sry for the double post.
This is from the manufacturers website.
TRITTON introduces the Audio Xtreme 360 (AX360), one of the industry?s first high performance Dolby Digital and Pro Logic certified digital gaming headset for Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Mac/PC and DVD players. The AX360 provides true 5.1 digital, 360-degree surround sound with a detachable microphone.
The headset connects to the gaming console optical port to deliver optimum Dolby certified 2.1 and 5.1 digital sound separation. For a radical and extreme gaming experience, the unit features eight strategically placed speakers, four in each ear cup. The external 5.1 audio controller amplifies each individual speaker to completely engulf users into the game. The AX360 gives total control with inline adjustments for front, rear, center and subwoofer to customize the users own audio experience. The integrated rumble effect will blow your mind, giving you a more realistic and immersed game play.
With the AX360 gamers can hear when enemies are sneaking up behind them, the roar of engines as they pass the competition, bullets flying from side to side, and explosions emitting from all directions over the battlefield. With the detachable microphone that is XBOX Live compatible, gamers can communicate with other gamers directly from the headset. The sound box can support two headsets to share in the chaos. (Secondary headsets sold separately.) Connect to a PC via an optical port or 5.1 analog outputs through the G9 adapter provided. The AX360 is not only the perfect gaming headset, it is also ideal for enjoying DVD movies in crystal clear 5.1 Dolby Digital certified sound.
Its for PC, 360 and PS3. This doesnt add rumble, or effect Immersion. Someone want to change the thread title so others are not confused or mislead.

@ bigperm88 , Thread title stays I see nothin wrong with it . I feel it is a low blow to Immersion since the Ps3 will still get another form of rumble pluss the sixaxis. Also from what I found above it said that they are maken a headset for the Ps3 remember it just been out 2 months so that website would for sure not have info up yet.
@ Domreis , I feel you man I played a demo Ps3 at Target and really didnt care to much about not haven rumble . I was stunned by the eye candy graphics of motostorm to even notice.

i think it is in reference to this part of the quote...

and then there was this

Well, i still think the thread title is wrong and useless.
The headphones connect via optial cable. I can get the same rubble effect by putting my head on my sub box.
But what ever, define rumble how you want, what ever floats your boat. This doest effect immersion in the least. The title says something about where the author loyalties lie, nothing more. Also it really shows that fanboys are clutching at straws.
Buy all 3, i am.

I for one brought this info to tell all those who cried about missing rumble an option for there needs . I will maybe try them out as well just to see what the drama is all about. As for the "Fanboy" term is lame as hell, alot of people are blinded by that term and dont even know the meaning. Just because you prefer and brand over the other It does not make you a fanboy. I like Sonys playstation's and I am a consumer who buys their products. They give me what I want in gamplay , Fighting , adventure , rpg , ect . If I were a "fanboy" I would type dumb sh*t like ____ blows or sucks lmfao. I will never be confused with them other cats. I also would not want a 360 to play halo , or want a Wii , all in all we should be happy that next gen consoles are better this time around. It dosent matter which console you like you are getting good gamming out of any of the three ... but back to the topic, I have heard that 360 lovers have these headphones and they love them alot. I am always willing to try somethin new out . (nice sig Face) ^o^
