Ive had a dvd-drive for not too long, but now it wont read games on original discs or copied discs. The same computer; same burner used to read a copied game, then now it just doesn't. Like right now it won't read a couple original discs that aren't even scratched or damaged. The burner isn't like dead, because it can still burn very well and do pretty much anything except reading games. The message i get when trying to play an original game or a copied game i once was able to play is "please insert the correct cd-rom and try again." So, i don't really know whats wrong. I think it might have to do with copy protection, but if it does, then how come i was able to play the same copied disc that i cant anymore??
Help would be appreciated.

if your game dics wont auto run right click mouse on disc and try explore if u can see the files just select all and copy to a folder on your desktop.u might be able to install game or burn to disc then fron disc convert them to iso.

Daemon Tools seems kind of complex. I read through the manual but it doesn't tell me how to do the particular thing i want to do. Like 1 to 1 copying; the manual doesn't tell me how to do it.
If there is a guide of some sort to explain the complexness of this software it would make me a lot happiness.
So, yeah. If anyone could explain just how to copy a protected game (like with 1:1 copy feature, i would appreciate it.

For the game/games discs that wont work is the game downloaded? I ask this because people commonly only get the erroe "please insert correct cd-rom" when playing with either a) a downloaded version of a game the isn't "fixed" or b) downloaded and installed a game, burnt it to a disc and cant get that disc to work. So again is the game/games disc(s) that wont work a downloaded copy?

lonernz - I have 2 computers and the game i once was able to play (a backup) worked on 1 for about 3 months. I got my computer fixed, maybe that has something to do with it. The dvd drive wasnt removed when it got fixed. I tried 3 different dvd drives on both of my computers.
To backup my games i only used Alcohol 120%, with that wizard. I cant remember the name of that wizard though. I did use the right protection too. Im trying to backup Battlefield vietnam, Battlefield 2, and Diablo 2: lord of destruction.
Is what you used all you need to use to backup a game, lonernz?
No, my games are not downloaded.

My cd's don't have anti-copywrite protection.
So thats it? I just use Clone CD to do my backups for anything, or just BFV & BF2?

This is annoying me like hell...
I copied BFV & Diablo 2 Lod successfully, but when i try to play, guess what it says? "Please insert the CD and try again." - something close to that for both!
I have tested both copies on both of my computers. 1 computer has a brand new drive, so i know that the drives isn't the problem.

I believe that would be caused by a improperly "fixed" no-cd/no-dvd executable file.

No, i don't use no-cd/no-dvd files. Why would i even need a no-cd/no-dvd file? My computer is not slow, so having slow games surprise me.
