I am using Nero 5.5.9 and have been looking everywhere for an answer to how to sucessfully burn a video DVD. I have already used Tmpeg to convert the Avis to Mpeg2 and on top of that I've also made Tmpeg encode seperate audio tracks and video tracks. My episodes are about 25 minutes long and I want to be able to fit about 4 or 5 on a DVD-R, any help as to what I do now would be appreciated.

you need to author the mpeg2's into VOB's
you can do this with programs like TMPGEnc DVD Author(not regular TMPGenc)
then pop into Nero.

For this situation I have previously used DVD Architect (by Sonic Foundry) to convert mpeg2 to VOB.
It makes relevant BUP & IFO , then it'll burn for you too. So after intialising rendering you can got to bed / work leaving it to do it's thing & come back to a finished disc. I could have alternatively used Nero to burn (5.5.9.9. is fine , used it for months myself before updating & that wasnt thru a need) although Nero does need BUP,IFO and VOB files to make a DVD stand alone compliant disc I might add.
I still havent tried TMPGEnc DVD Author so I dont know if this creates BUP & IFO is the reasoning for mentioning BTW ; )

Nero 5 comes with Nero Vision Express. NVE is SUPPOSED to comvert your files from camcored to MPEG automatically, then when burning prepare the ifo, bup and VOB files. This is possible if you have purchased the DVD encoder file from Nero. Also, assuming Nero even works. It prepared only one DVD for me and then quit working claiming NwAcEnc.dll is missing.

What ?
Nero wasnt designed to be an encoder (especially Nero Vision Express, which is sh1te)
Use TMPGEnc DVD Author or Sonic Foundry DVD Architect...
As a burning tool , Nero has never let me down [ever]!!

NVE automatically converts digital video to MPEG2 under the DVD icon for capure. It then transcodes (or should) for burning. After a DVD is burned, you can see the ifo, bup, and VOB files in the directory. Do you have Nero 6 w/NVE? What am I missing here? This actually worked for me once. I have problems now, though.
The NVE user's guide says 'NVE is the new video caturing, authoring and burning software...'
Will you describe the steps you use. I need to learn from this exchange! :)
