I have only used Optodisc 1X and Ritek 4X G04
I have to say that both work great so far, ritek cost me about 3 bucks CAD and the opt. cost me 1.88CAD. ALL have burned and played perfect. Here's my question

I want to stay with Optodisc 1X cause they are cheap. The ritek are very dark puple and the Optodisc are blue after burning. My question is will Optodisc 1X last? First of all i know that riteks are the shit. Very good media, but almost 2X the price. I want a cheap media that is good and this Optodisc 1X seems to work. Just worried 1 year or 2 down the road. Any input? (PS i allready know ritek are awesome, i'm wondering aboutOptodisc 1X ) thanks adam

I don't think your talking one or two years down the road, it may be more like 5-10 years. With all organic dyes, they cant last. I would put it to you though, that the Ritek would most likely last longer than the Optodisc. the good thing i suppose is that you will notice on your DVD player that the disc is getting old and should be able to get it to be read on the computer and put back on a new DVD R

Ok cool, 5 to 10 years is good enough for me. I use ritek for my imporant media. But Optodisc 1X is cheap as hell, Thanks Oriphus
