for the past 24 hours or so i have been trying to copy and burn 3 dvds i rented frm blockbuster.

( snakes on a plane, pirates of the caribbean dead mans chest and the fast and the furious tokyo drift)

now this is wat i found.

sankes on a plane has no hi-tech anti ripping software so you can
rip it using decrypter or shrink.

pirates of the caribbean dead mans chest on the otherhand has some very nasty anti ripping software

and the same goes for the fast and the furious tokyo drift

now after an agonising 10 hours i had all the films on my computer ready to burn.

so i open up Nero to start burning and wat do you know there is a problem there as well so after another 6 hours or so i managed to finally rip tokyo drift to a DVD-RW.

so the point to all this is use high qualtiy dvd-rw's if you dont and you use dvd-r's then it will be a waste of time

anyway if anybody konws a way you can backup dvds to dvd-r's then please can you tell me as i have 8 blank dvd-r's here with no use for them.

Yes you can backup movies with DVD-R/DVD+R media.

Since this is a grey area (within the rules) I will wait and see if a MOD closes the post per piracy since you have rented these from BlockBuster.
