I have a torrent file of crash bandicoot (I own game) but i dont know where to place it. Yah im using 3.02 OEA

It needs to be in EBOOT format. If it is, drop it in PSP/GAME. Works just like a homebrew.
I haven't messed w/ OE-A just yet, tho I think I'm about to. If that doesn't work, (PSP/GAME) try PSP/GAME150 and PSP/GAME302. One of those will work GUARANTEED.

You put the keys.bin, document.dat and the EBOOT.PBP into X:\PSP\GAME\SCUS94900\ (where X is the drive letter of your PSP). This is because the PSX games must be run on the 3.02 kernel so putting it in the GAME150 folder will not work.

The document.dat is not necessary.

Ok I have tried this, but when I try and launch the title from the memory stick, it says the system must be activated. What's that all about? Need a PS3 to do this?

Yup. The files were on the memory stick in the PSP\GAME\CRASH folder. First it complained the firmware wasnt late enough, so I let it do an update to the latest version via the net. 3.something. Thing is it's not my PSP and so it's not with me right now, but I know it's the latest version as of this afternoon.
I can't run it on my own PSP as I have a 1.50 that I don't want to update.

I didn't even know about the existance of custom firmware for the PSP. I have been off the scene for a while since downgrading my Jap PSP to 1.50 last year. Since following your guide I have now flashed it with 3.02 OE-B and I have to say I am very impressed with the results. Finally I have some decent features on my PSP and it now runs stuff 1.50 couldnt handle. For anyone with a 1.50 finding the limitations frustrating then I strongly recommend following the guide posted above and load yourself with 3.02 OE-B.
Worked for me and my Jap PSP 1000 :-)
As for my buddies UK PSP, it won't work on her's as it now runs the latest offical firmware, so no hope of being able to flash it with 3.02 OE-A or B. :-(
Nevermind, as long as mine works who cares!

i just downloaded rayman (psx) and when i extracted the rar file, 3 documents came out :
RAYMAN
RAYMAN.ccd
RAYMAN.sub
any idea what i do with them?

hi can any1 help me
i downloaded PSX simpsons wrestling and it only came with a EBOOT.PBP i put it into PSP/GAME but it dosent come up on my psp
btw my firmware is 3.02 OE-B

nope dnt work
i got other psx games and they work but they are in a folder called SLUS or SCUS whith numbers on them
i tried puting the EBOOT.PBP in both the folders with no numbers but it come out saying Te game could not be started (CA000005)

well we r in the same boat, i just downloaded rayman, and i never got an eboot or anything, its the first psx game i havetried, so i hope i know whatt to do, 1 last thing, can you notput it in the iso folder?

Johnc1234 - You have yourself a CD image, should be able to burn it using CloanCD or similar.
To be honest, sounds like you have downloaded a pure PSX CD image rather than the PSP version. You need to fined games which state something like PSX for PSP or PS1 for PSP etc.
And no, putting a PSX ISO in the ISO folder will not work. Only PSP ISOs will run from there.
Fusion9 - You need to create a folder to put the EBOOT in.
For example, if your PSP is drive X on your PC you would make a folder called SIMPSONS within the GAME folder.
So the full path would be X:\PSP\GAME\SIMPSONS\
Once you do that, copy in the EBOOT and any other files it comes with into that folder and then you should be able to see the game within the memory card.

I gather from the existance of this torrent the files are the same for all games.
While I'm here, could anyone tell me why most PS1 games crash on the PSP? I downloaded PSP - Gran Turismo [USA PSX-PSP] [www.torrentspain.com]) (and yes I do own the original) and it gets as far as the screen which says something about the cars in the game, and then the PSP freezes up, although you can get to the PS1 menu by pressing start or select or whatever it is.
I also tried imaging Resident Evil 2 from a PS1 CD and that got to the gore warning screen and crashed also. I've only managed to run Resident Evil 1 Directors cut and that golf game that is recommended as a template by Dark Alex.
What am I doing wrong? I have the latest custom firmware for PS1 games.
Suggestions?
