according to them it could be one of thousands of things, since the 3 Red ring just means system failure or hardware failure.
were u smart and didn't screw up ur warrenty label and did an extremely clean job on the install?? or u could try to find someone at a local shop by you who could do it. or ur out of luck.

What quadrants are red? I found this but not sure if its what you have.
SYMPTOMS
You see three lights on the Ring of Light (RoL) flash red on the front of the Xbox 360 console. The upper-right quadrant light is the only light that does not flash red.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when the Xbox 360 console experiences a hardware failure.
THINGS TO TRY
1. Examine the lights on the power supply. When you turn on the console, the power supply light should illuminate green even if the three lights on the RoL flash red. If the power supply unit light is not green, follow the steps that are listed in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:
906101 Xbox 360: The power supply light is red
906102 Xbox 360: The power supply light is orange
906103 Xbox 360: The power supply light is not illuminated

Seems like the DVD-Rom failure. When they installed the Globe 360 mod chip, they soldered it on the DVD. I reckon that it might have some cold solders. Just double check around the chip.
You should have just flash the dvd firmware. It's fast, easy, and cheap!

if its the dvd rom then a new ones 50$, but thats given that u have ur orig.bin fw from ur old drive. u'll need that to flash those hex codes with the new dvd drive inorder for it to work with the mobo. theres alot of web sites that can do it for u for a price, ill try to link u one once i find it.

Everytime I've read a thread about the 3 red rings of death it is always determined to be a dead xbox. The easiest thing you can do is sell off this xbox360 for parts and purchase a new one. This time don't install a modchip. Do the firmware flash and don't mess up your warrenty label. Take it off with a hairdryer and put it on some wax paper (book of stamps). That way if you ever experience this again, you'll be protected.
Sorry but you can look for days, there's no way back from the 3 red lights of death... from what I've read.

hey, if you know a little bit about electrical engineering, you might be able to save this DVD.
If you answer yes to this question, then you might be able to save your DVD Rom.
- Can you eject the dvd tray? Does it seems to reading the DVD disc when inserted?
if YES then:
Just go to Radio Shack, get a solder iron and a desoldering braid.
then take your dvd rom out and if the Globe 360 was installed correctly, you will see it mounted on the chasis of the DVD rom. follow all the orange wires (or what ever color the wires are) to the bottom of the DVD Rom.
You can do two things:
1. just pull of all the wires from the DVD Rom.
2. with a little skill remove all the wires and solder points using the desoldering braid.
Then, you can flash the firmware of the DVD rom. By removing the Globe 360, your DVD might once live again.
I once saved my buddy's xbox 360 from a bad globe installation. These people just over charge you for install them, but they do a porr job sometimes.
hopes this help.
cheers

thank you for the tip. i unplugged all the wires to the dvd drive from the xbox so they were completely seperated from each other except for 1 wire from the chip to the circuit board. when i turned the xbox on it still gave me the red light error. do you think that it could still be the chip or does this sound like something else?
the xbox had worked perfectly since 11-01-06. some of the first signs of it going bad was two days ago when i was playing an original disk the graphics went distorted and it froze. i turned it off and then back on and that seemed to work. then today when i was playing the exact same game it just turned off right in the middle of the game and then when i turned it back on it gave me the ring if death.

it is definitely your xbox dvd rom. I unplugged my dvd rom cable to the xbox motherboard and sure enough I got the 3 red lights.
at this point I am assuming that the modchip did played a role in this issue. the chip might be the cause of the 3 red lights.
You said that you left one wire from the chip circuit board? what wire is this? power? ground? data wire?
What xbox dvd rom drive do you have? Sammy or Hitachi?
