I'm seeking some opinion as to whether retain DTS or Dolby 5.1 when compressing a movie. In example, Tombstone: The Director's Cut, the compression level when selecting DTS is at 72% whereas when I select Dobly 5.1 audio the compression level is at 78%. Also, do you always choose "maximum smoothness" when burning a movie? Thanks.
You honestly don't need DTS. If you want, keep it, otherwise, 5.1 will always suffice for me. I'd rather stick with the 5.1 since it saves a hell of a lot more space.
No, I don't always use maximum smoothness. Anything below 65%, I use max smooth. Between 65 and 80, I think, I use the next level, smooth. Between 80-90, I use default. 90+ I use max sharpness.
...or something like, you can look it up, it's been posted here somewhere.

So, unless you have or intend to buy DTS equipment the DTS track is useless. In that case don't waste the space. If you ever get DTS, you can always make another backup.
