Hello,
i been usin g\easy AVI to dvd to covert my movies and burn them.. ever since i started burning them even with different media in certain parts of the movie while im watching it in my dvd player it has some lil green blocks or blotchyness in certain scenes.. its real fast its there and its gone.. im sure it has to do with my comp.. i was thinking if i upgrade the memory it wouldnt do this but im confused what to do.. the movies are great and they work perfect i would just like to nip this pet peeve in the butt.. also i was using Nero vision to burn my movies and the audio was so out of sync when the movie was burned i decided to remove Nero and no longer use it. thus having no menus but the movies play fine
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to find out what this problem is.
thank you

the media that you are useing is probley some of the problem, if you are using memorex or any off brand that is a bad thing, another problem you might have is, the files that you are trying to encode you got them from the net right? you say that you are using avitodvd, so that is why i said what i did, you allways want to make sure that you look for the comements to see if there is any thing wrong with the file before you download the file, it is like this grabage in garbage out, also no multitasking while you are converting or while you are burning, also try to turn off any programs that could be running that you don't need, hope that helps good luck

yes the movies are off the net.. right now i have fuji film media and before i had memorex media and it all did this.. im using Easy AVI DivX XviD to DVD Burner... this happens with every movie i get.. i have done about 10 movies now and there all this way.. also when i do convert and burn a movie i restart my comp and close allmost every program running i can and let it do its job while im away from the comp.. so the resources are fresh.. any other ideas? i know its not the media unless both memorex and fujifilm are garbage. please let me know.
thanks for the prompt reply

could be the media, could also be the conversion of the AVI files at fault here, use Nero's cd-dvd speed program to do a CRC scan ie to check the disc for corruption and report back...

what am i suspose to look for using Nero dvd- cd speed? i scanned a disk i recently burned and it showed a 100% quality on the disk, but i couldnt do a disk quality test and dont know how to.. i did a create disk and the average buffer was 98% and the average cpu usage was 7%.. i think it might be the compression thats the problem. but when i used Nero to make my dvds it took forver and the audio was off sync by 8 seconds at times.. and this is the only program that burns the movie good with audio in sync. any other ideas guys?
thanks

its not my media thats bad it has to be the coverting, when i burn a iso file i download it plays fine with no lil green boxes on certain scenes. but when i convert a AVI or mpg to dvd usiong easy AVI to dvd the lil boxes show up in certain scenes. more like real action packed scenes when the camera switches alot. it has happened on every movie tghat ive burned from AVI format.

I'm going to make an educated guess and assume the problem is with the original AVI files being downloaded and show up after the conversion. I quit messing with dl'ing avi's a long time ago due to similiar problems.

why don't you try using vso's ConvertXtoDVD, and see how that program works, most of the time's when the audio is out of sych it is the way it was converted from the person who made the conversion, before it was made to a AVI, and rared the file, there is a program that can fix it is called AVIMux GUI, myself i have not used this program, cuzz i don't have the problem with this, good luck

well heres something.. i tried that. i burned prison break season two using Nero and the audio was off sync by like 8 seconds at times.. then i used easy AVI to dvd and the audio was fine..
its not the AVI files that are at fault its the conversion from AVI to dvd.

@ntheb0x

Do as rdmercer1 has suggested and download a copy of VSO ConvertXtoDVD. You can use the trial version but it will leave a watermark on the output DVD. But at least you can see what the results will be using the program. If it works then I would suggest buying it. It is well worth the money.

I have used all types of AVI to DVD converters. I've used Nerovison and allot of times I had the audio sync problem. I have also used AVI to DVD/WinAVI/ Etc. Etc. and by far ConvertXtoDVD has given me the best results.

You can get the software from the website below.

http://www.vso-software.fr/download.php

It is on the top row on the right.

Also if you are creating DVD's like Prison Break watch out how many episodes you are putting on a single layer disc. The more you add the more compression and pixilation you will get. I would stick with only adding 3 to 4 episodes per disc. If you are adding all episodes of 1 season on 1 disc then that is defiantly your problem.
