ok guys heres the deal whenever i try to play games on xbox live that have update things b4 playing to play the game it says network problem. i know its cause my router has some damn firewall that blocks it and shti but i dont know how to stop it from doing that. ive tried everything with my router. reseting it. The password still doesnt go default or nothing. Is there a patch or something though that i can install on the 360 with a burned cd so i can update on live to play games. I tried play halo 2 on live it required an update but says network problem. For games like nba live 07 and nba 2k7 they dont require updates so i can play them fine. Wtf is going on here someone help me out. thx in advance.

PS: my router is a D-link and its wired not wireless.

You just just bypass the router once to update that particular game if you wanted to. But I'd say you need to open the port in the port forwarding settings on the router that the 360 updates go through (which I don't know but I'm sure you could find out).

try just connecting your 360 to the modem and update it that way. Thats what I did when my brother forgot to program my 360's ip in to the server.

Playstation 2-Free McBoot,HDloader 8.0c,Open PS2 Loader 0.7,80gb Maxtor HDD,SMS Media Player,PGen,SNES Station- Installed

instead of opening ports you could allow your xbox to be on the DMZ list, that way nothing will interfere with your online gaming. but of course you wiull need to access your router to do that.
as ps2menace said, access is normally admin & admin or admin & password (log on details)
