Hello,
I found this ad from Meritline.com, the product is DVD-R media from PioData

http://www.meritline.com/nepi4xdvbr4b.html

The ad says that the DVD-R are (Made by Pioneer OEM Manufacturer).

What does that mean "Pioneer OEM Manufacturer" ??

Does that mean the Pioneer 4x DVD-R which are branded are made from the same company that PioData is getting their media from.

So the quality for PioData is exactly same as Pioneer's 4x branded DVD-R.

Has any one tried these DVD-Rs. And is the bottom of these DVD-R's is dark purple like Pioneers 4x DVD-R.

Any Input would be greatly appreciated.

I would say it means the same people who make Pioneer media also make that.

Just remember though, the same people who make the Chevette also make the Corvette. Doesn't make them the same class of vehicle.

You have a point. In other words, if they were to make DVD-Rs for Pioneer, they would use higher quality standard dye, as opposed to making DVD-Rs for PioData which wouldn't be as good.
