hey guys, I've recently installed a xenogc chip in my gamecube which seems to be working, get the old red flashing and then green light deal and it plays gamecube original games fine.
so the hard part done i rushed off to my computer, 8cm ridata dvd's in hand, to burn some iso's i have but everytime i try to burn anything to those goddam little discs i get "I/O error" "write error!" and so on. this applies to anything, not just gc iso's.

anyway you all seem to know your stuff, i've scoured all over for firmware updates and help relavent to my drive with little luck.

in review:
drive= phillips +-dvd8701 (similar to the benq 1640 i think)
media= ridata 8cm dvd 4x
software= clone dvd2, Nero 6.6.1.4, imgburn 2.xx
problem= fails to write anything right from the lead in

any advice you might have would be great.
